In the mid 1930’s, Alin McCahon immigrated to the United States from
Ireland. He learned his early growing skills by working as a gardener for
a large estate in Newport, Rhode Island.
Naturally gifted, Alin decided to become an entrepreneur, and open up a
wholesale flower nursery in South San Francisco, California. When he
outgrew his location, he relocated to Half Moon Bay, California. With the
help of his sons, he created a flourishing flower business. Extremely
passionate about his business, he worked into his late eighties.
One of his sons, Wilson McCahon continued the hard work and dedication to the
nursery, while teaching his own son, Andy McCahon, all the ins and outs of
becoming a grower in the same tradition as his father and grandfather.
Andy attended the University of Southern California, where he met his wife,
Laurie. He graduated with a business degree, with his focus on an
entrepreneurial major. When his father retired, Andy expanded the
business and purchased a 30 acre nursery in Watsonville, California
